Focus on political communication: Katharina Waterkamp joins frauwenk in Berlin

Hamburg/Berlin, July 2nd, 2026

frauwenk, the strategic communications consultancy for technology companies, is expanding its Berlin office: Katharina Waterkamp joins as Senior Communications Consultant. With her experience, frauwenk is broadening its service portfolio to include political communication, stakeholder relations, and regulatory affairs.

Journalistic Background, Political Acumen

Katharina Waterkamp began her career at Deutschlandfunk before transitioning into strategic communications. Most recently, she worked at Storymachine. She combines journalistic precision with a deep understanding of political processes — a combination that is crucial for technology companies operating in regulatory environments.

“Technology companies win markets when they reach the right stakeholders. The political decision-makers who set the regulatory frameworks are based in Berlin. That is precisely where our clients need to be present—with clear positions and reliable relationships,” says Katharina Waterkamp.

Berlin as a Political Hub

Technology companies face growing regulatory requirements. frauwenk develops communication strategies that systematically integrate political dimensions, ranging from stakeholder mapping and regulatory positioning to dialogue with political decision-makers. The Berlin location offers close proximity to federal politics and EU-relevant stakeholders.

“Anyone who approaches tech communication without a political dimension misses out on market opportunities they don’t even see. With Katharina, we are building exactly that in Berlin: communication strategies that view regulation as a competitive factor,” says Miriam Graf, Chief of Strategy & Client Services and Head of the Berlin office.

frauwenk’s Berlin clients already include e-Residency of Estonia, the Werner-von-Siemens-Ring, and Fastly. Together, they shape the location’s profile: technology-driven, politically relevant, and international.
